How To Prepare For Your Boudoir Experience

Preparing for your boudoir experience should feel exciting not stressful. If you are searching for how to prepare for a boudoir photoshoot or what to expect before a boudoir session this guide will walk you through everything you need to know to feel confident prepared and fully ready for your luxury boudoir experience. This is your time to slow down focus on yourself and step into something that feels fun empowering and a little out of your comfort zone in the best way. A little prep goes a long way in helping you feel confident relaxed and ready when you walk into the studio. Here is everything you need to know to prepare for your boudoir session so you can get the absolute most out of your boudoir photography experience and walk into your session feeling confident relaxed and empowered.

First things first hydrate like it is your job. One of the most important boudoir photoshoot preparation tips is staying hydrated leading up to your session. Drink plenty of water the entire week leading up to your session. Hydrated skin photographs beautifully and gives you that natural glow we all want. It also helps reduce bloating which is never a bad thing. Along with drinking your water try to skip alcohol for a few days before your shoot. I know it is hard but your body and your photos will thank you.

Let’s talk about feet because this one is almost always overlooked when preparing for a boudoir photoshoot. We are going to see the bottoms of your feet in your boudoir photos. Dry cracked skin will absolutely show and it is not something that can be easily photoshopped. Whether you do an at home pedicure or go get one professionally done just make sure your feet are soft and taken care of before your session.

Your hands matter just as much in boudoir photography. Hands are almost always in the frame even if they are not the main focus. Pulling on straps running through your hair grabbing your booty or resting against your body your hands are doing a lot of work. Clean short nails are perfectly fine. A fresh manicure is great too. If you want something fun without the commitment press on nails work amazingly and photograph so well.

Accessories are your best friend when preparing outfits for your boudoir session. Bring all the things. Jewelry heels button ups jackets hats robes anything you think might look good. More options are always better and we can go through everything together once you arrive at the studio. Sometimes the pieces you are unsure about end up being absolute favorites in photos.

On the day of your boudoir session comfort is key before you even arrive at the studio. Please wear loose clothing the morning of your shoot. Tight bras jeans leggings or socks can leave marks on your skin that take time to fade. Loose dresses oversized tees or joggers are your best option so your skin looks smooth and mark free when we start shooting.

If you have booked professional hair and makeup with my artist or it is included in your boudoir photography session please arrive with clean dry hair and clean dry skin. No wet hair no heavy products and no makeup unless we have discussed otherwise. This allows my artist to give you the best possible results and ensures everything lasts beautifully throughout your session.

Most importantly remember that you do not need to know how to pose or how to be sexy during your boudoir photoshoot. That is my job. Your only job is to show up and trust the process. I will guide you through every pose every expression and every moment so you never feel awkward or unsure. Boudoir is about celebrating yourself exactly as you are right now.

Preparing for your boudoir experience is part of the journey and it should feel just as intentional as the boudoir photography session itself. Take care of your body gather the pieces that make you feel amazing and come ready to have fun. You deserve this experience and I promise you are going to walk out feeling incredible.
